Search Engine Friendly Item Listings

We've been working on making the item listings and seller gorages search engine friendly. What does search engine friendly mean and how does that affect the users of the site? To start, search engine friendly pages are designed so that the content of the page is picked up by search engines. Most common formats for building webpages with database connections are not recognized by search engines.

Our goal is to get your items listed on search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN...Etc. This means more exposure for your item listings at no additional cost to you.

In addition, we have built pages with shorter web addresses or URL's. This makes it easier to send a link to your gorage or item listing. It also makes it easier for you to put links to your items on other websites. For example, if you wanted to send a link to your gorage to someone the path to that page would look like this: http://www.gorage.com/mygorage/goragename

Getting to your item would look like this: http://www.gorage.com/myitem/100 where the "100" represents the numeric id for that item in the gorage.com database.

Go to the site: gorage.com and browse through the gorages. Click on a gorage and look at the web address. You'll see this new method in place.

It's just one of the ways we are working to help our users have the best possible way to sell their new or used items online.

gorage.com featured on Boston TV station

gorage.com was featured on The Boston Channel (Channel 5 - WCVB-TV) this evening:

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/theclick/4712752/detail.html

The website was "The Click" feature for the evening. TheBostonChannel.com's Jamy Pombo will feature useful or fun Web sites and show what's new in the hi-tech world each day at 5:30 p.m. on "The Click" report.

This is the second time that gorage.com has been featured on television. Our first television exposure came from the local Arizona television show Sonoran Living Live that aired on KNXV-TV Channel 15 on June 28, 2005.

Thank you to both of those stations for helping to get the word out about gorage.com.

We have had very good response from both.
